The International Academy of Design & Technology – Orlando offers $134,000 annually in tuition scholarship awards to encourage the pursuit of higher education. Applicants must submit a separate application form for each scholarship for which they wish to apply. Scholarship applications for all scholarships are available from the Financial Aid Office at IADT.

President’s Institutional Tuition Scholarship
The President’s Institutional Tuition Scholarship has been established to assist students who demonstrate a financial need and are committed to maintaining satisfactory academic progress while studying at the International Academy of Design & Technology – Orlando. Applicants must submit a one- to two-page essay describing why the applicant feels he or she is deserving of the award, along with a completed scholarship application.
The tuition scholarship awards will range form $500 to $1,000 for each scholarship recipient, payable during the first quarter of attendance after the award is granted. Deadline for application is September 15, December 15, March 15, and June 15, with awards granted during the following quarter. Applications must be submitted to the President’s Office and selection of awards will be made by the President and Director of Financial Aid, based upon analysis of financial need of the applicants and quality and content of the essays. The annual aggregate amount of the President’s Institutional Scholarship awards will not exceed $20,000.
IADT High School Award Scholarship
Applicants must be high school seniors planning to attend the Academy beginning in the summer quarter immediately following high school graduation. Applicants must complete a scholarship application and schedule for a scholarship examination through the High School Admissions department at the Academy. Examinations are scheduled monthly from September through April (contact the High School Admissions department at the Academy for specific test dates). The scholarship exam is an hour-long test that assesses reading comprehension, math and English.
High School Partnership Scholarship
High school seniors who attend a Florida high school and obtain a recommendation from their high school guidance counselor can apply for a $1,000 partnership scholarship to attend IADT. Guidance counselors from each high school may recommend one student from their school for the scholarship. Applicants must submit a completed scholarship application, along with two letters of recommendation (one from the guidance counselor and one from an instructor at the school) to the High School Admissions department, and must enter into the Academy’s summer quarter immediately following their high school graduation. The scholarship award is applied in equal quarterly installments through the students’ first three quarters of attendance. Applications are provided to each high school guidance counselor or may be obtained directly from the Academy. Completed applications must be received at IADT no later than June 30. The annual aggregate amount of the Partnership Scholarships will not exceed $20,000.
IADT National Award Scholarship
The IADT National Award Scholarship is available to students enrolled to start school at IADT who live in the United States and are not Florida residents. Applicants must also demonstrate financial need as determined by a Financial Aid Officer of the International Academy. Applicants must submit a completed scholarship application, along with a two-page essay outlining the talents they possess that make them well-suited to their area of study, why they believe the International Academy is their school of choice, and what their career plans are upon graduation from IADT. Applicants must also submit two letters of recommendation from either past or present educators and / or employers and must have completed their financial aid package requirements as defined by the Financial Aid office.
The deadline for submission is March 15 for students entertain in the spring term, June 15 for entrance into the summer term, September 15 for entry into the fall term, and December 15 for students entering in the winter term. Awards may range from $500 to $1,500 for each scholarship recipient, with awards of less than $1,001 being applied in the student’s first quarter of attendance and awards of $1,001 or greater applied in equal quarterly installments during the student’s first three quarters of attendance. The annual aggregate amount of the International Merit Scholarship awards will not exceed $20,000.
International Academy of Design & Technology High School Fashion Design Scholarship
This scholarship applies for anyone who is a high school senior, a legal resident of the United States, and meets the eligibility requirements set forth below. Those who qualify may compete in the International Academy of Design & Technology High School Fashion Design (“the Academy”) contest (the “Scholarship Contest”), sponsored by FashionDiner.com (“Sponsor”). Each entrant will submit an original sketch, fabric samples, and an inspiration statement to the Academy. A finalist will be chosen and will receive a $1,000 scholarship to that local campus. The local finalists will be then be entered into the national competition with a chance to win an additional $5,000 scholarship to their local campus. In addition, the national winner will complete their garment based on specifications outlined on www.FashionDiner.com and have it worn in the IADT Chicago IMAGINE fashion show on May 15, 2008. The winner also will receive a 3 day, 2 night expense paid trip along with VIP access to the IADT Chicago IMAGINE fashion show in Chicago. Scholarship amounts are awarded in equal installments over the first three consecutive terms.
Deadline:
All entries must be submitted physically to the local Academy campus or received in the mail no later than March 28, 2008, at 11:59 p.m., local standard time of the Academy campus of your choice. The first round of judging will be completed by April 7, 2008, and the local finalists will be notified by email, regular mail or telephone on that day. The second round of judging will be completed by April 11, 2008, and the winners will be notified by email, regular mail or telephone on that day. The scholarship winners have until December 31, 2008, to accept the scholarship offer. If the scholarship offer is not accepted by that date, it will be rescinded. Eligibility:
This Scholarship Contest is open to all legal residents of the United States who are high school seniors with an expected graduation date prior to December 31, 2008. Employees of Career Education Corporation ("CEC") and its schools and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter. Entrants may only submit one entry to the original campus. Duplicate and late entries will be disregarded. The Academy scholarship that is awarded must be used at the chosen local campus where the entry was submitted to. To enter, you must fulfill all general contest guidelines outlined at www.FashionDiner.com. By entering, you agree to these Official Rules and the decisions of all of the judges, which are final and binding in all respects. Limit one entry per person.
Scholarship Awarding Panel:
The contest will consist of a two round judging process conducted as follows:
First Round for local finalists. The first round judging is conducted by a panel of IADT faculty and employees at each local campus. The judging panel will select each local finalist based on the collective submission of the participant’s artwork and inspiration statement on April 7, 2008. The local finalists selected will move to the national round of judging and will be notified by e-mail, telephone or mail.
Second Round for national winner: The second round judging is conducted by a national panel of IADT faculty and employees. The judging panel will select the national winner based on the collective submission of the participant’s artwork and inspiration statement on April 11, 2008. The national winner will be notified by e-mail, telephone, or mail.
The Academy and CEC reserve the right to cancel, postpone or end the Scholarship Contest at any time, at their sole discretion, or to disqualify any participant or winner that the Academy, at its sole discretion, deems to have cheated, destroyed, obstructed, or otherwise acted illegally or in bad faith in relation to this contest.
