La Mode: An International Evening of Fashion 2007
Seattle, Washington, July 24, 2007 – After the success of the International Academy of Design and Technology – Seattle's (IADT Seattle) 2006 gala fashion show, La Mode: An Evening of Fashion, the design college is gearing up to wow the greater Puget Sound community with even more fabulous fashions and an unforgettable night of pure entertainment. La Mode: An International Evening of Fashion draws from the college's core principles and incorporates, teamwork, community, and the international element to create an impact on the Seattle area. While fashion shows are informative and fun, IADT's show also incorporates elements of diversity, unity, and creation. Nick Verreos and Andrae Gonzalo of Bravo TV's PROJECT RUNWAY will be in attendance at the event. The 2006 show marked Verreos' first time in Seattle and he "fell in love with the city." During his comments, Verreos noted how important it is for new designers to have opportunities like the La Mode to show off their designs. In addition to their guest appearance at La Mode, Verreos and Gonzalo will be presenting a special workshop at the IADT campus on Saturday August 25, 2007 at 11am. They will speak on a variety of topics including, "getting the most out of design school, how to get started in the fashion industry, and the dos and don'ts of starting your own line."
This year IADT Seattle has partnered with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and will be hosting a "Wine & Design" auction to support this charitable organization. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Auction items include original designed garments by local Seattle-area designers, wine (of course!), and the rare opportunity to spend one-on-one time with celebrity designer Andrae Gonzalo as he sketches a one-of-a-kind garment for the lucky winner!
La Mode: An International Evening of Fashion is an exciting event open to the community. The glamour-packed evening will be filled with fun and excitement from the moment one steps onto the red carpet! La Mode will take place on August 24, 2007 at 7:30pm at the Spirit of Washington Event Center. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased online, or by calling 206.830.6399. Tickets are $20 General Admission for Students with ID, $25 for General Admission, and $50 for VIP tickets, which includes prime VIP seating, reception and a gift bag.
