Project Runway’s Shirin Askari to Host IADT’s Annual IMAGINE Fashion and Arts Show

SAN ANTONIO (March 10, 2011) – The International Academy of Design and Technology’s (IADT) graduating class of 2011 will be showcasing their talents and designs at the annual IMAGINE Fashion Runway Event and Art Show. The showcase will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at the Grand Hyatt (600 E. Market St., 78205). Fashion designer Shirin Askari who was featured in season six of Project Runway will serve as the event’s emcee.

Showcasing their final work before graduation, fashion and graphic design students from IADT will be sharing their special night with two gracious beneficiaries. Proceeds of the show will support Career Education Scholarship Fund (CESF) and local non-profit, Eva’s Heroes. CESF provides need- and merit-based scholarships to qualified students who are attending one of its many participating institutions. Founded by Eva Longoria and Christiane Perkins-Garcia, Eva’s Heroes is an organization that creates opportunities for teens and young adults with special needs to integrate and flourish in society.

“IMAGINE allows students to exhibit their talents and show the final product behind years of preparation,” said IADT-San Antonio President Brian Silver. “Our students have the ability to make a significant impact on the fashion and graphic design industries – locally, nationally and even internationally.”
