IADT-San Antonio Announces 2011 Commencement

SAN ANTONIO (May 19, 2011) – The International Academy of Design and Technology-San Antonio (IADT) will celebrate the graduation of 170 students from its bachelor’s and associate’s degree programs. The commencement will be held on Friday, June 10, at 6:00 p.m. at Laurie Auditorium (One Stadium Dr., 78212).
The 2011 graduating class is the third class to graduate from the school, and it will be the first graduating class of the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design and Merchandising and Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design programs.
“The best way to turn your passion into possibility is to look at your future as a blank sheet of paper and understand that what goes on it depends on you, your talent, your imagination and your desire to find a school that fits your style, skills and interests,” said IADT-San Antonio Campus Director Gilbert DeLeon. “We are honored to graduate these fantastic students into the brave, new world of their unique career paths.”
Laura Thompson will serve as the keynote speaker for the fourth graduation class of IADT-San Antonio. She has worked in the media industry for over 20 years in all mediums: radio, internet, print, outdoor, and television. Public involvement consulting, community outreach, event management and coordination are her areas of expertise. Thompson is the owner of Laura Thompson Agency. She is currently running for City Council District 10 and is also the founder of Sistas in Business, Inc.
