IADT-Sacramento Announces 2011 Commencement with Keynote Speaker Sacramento City Councilmember Angelique Ashby Sept. 17

Sacramento, Calif. (Sept. 2, 2011) – The International Academy of Design and Technology-Sacramento (IADT) will celebrate the graduation of 60 students from its bachelor’s and associate’s degree programs in Graphic Design, Interior Design and Fashion Design and Merchandising Sept. 17. The commencement will take place at 10 a.m. at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium.
“We are all so proud of the tireless efforts our students put into their many projects and assignments.” says Patricia A. Hoffman, president of IADT-Sacramento. “The sheer dedication these students have put into ensuring their own future success is priceless.”
Sacramento Councilmember Angelique Ashby will serve as the keynote speaker. Ashby is one of the youngest and newest members to the Sacramento City Council. She was elected to office in the June 2010 primary and was sworn-in to office in November 2010. Ashby has deep roots in the city of Sacramento. A graduate of Sacramento High School, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with an emphasis on Law and Society from the University of California at Davis. She received a Juris Doctorate from the McGeorge School of Law. She lives in Natomas with her husband and two children.
