(Troy, Mich.) January 16, 2012. - International Academy of Design &Technology Digital Media Production student Brandon Hurst has received the first William Malcolm Design Your Future Scholarship Award, an award exclusively for IADT-Detroit students. The $500 scholarship is aimed at high-achieving, creative design students who inspire other students and faculty that attend the Detroit campus of the International Academy of Design &Technology (IADT-Detroit).
“I am literally at a loss for words by the creative talent of the students that attend IADT-Detroit. I decided to create this annual scholarship as my small contribution to the success of the many deserving students that attend IADT-Detroit. Furthermore, it is my goal to grow and expand the scholarship monetarily so that I can award more funding to more students,” said William Malcolm, fashion designer of the William Malcolm Luxe Collection label and founder of the Design Your Future Scholarship Award.
Brandon Hurst, the first recipient of the award, is a fourth-year student in IADT’s Digital Media Production program. His interests and talents include photography, video production and post-production editing and effects. Brandon’s goals after graduation from IADT-Detroit include launching a multi-media visual services company and assisting with less-fortunate youth. “I really appreciate this scholarship; it will go toward costs associated with my education. I thank William Malcolm and more importantly, IADT-Detroit for creating an environment in which I have been able to pursue my passion and flourish,” Hurst said.
