Students from IADT-Detroit have officially started a Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter, one of the first Michigan-based chapters of its kind.
Future Business Leaders of America is a nonprofit education association with a quarter million students preparing for careers in business and business-related fields. The association has four divisions, ranging from high school groups to career professionals. IADT-Detroit will be affiliated with the Phi Beta Lambda division, which is exclusive to post-secondary institutions of higher education.
Currently, the new group at IADT-Detroit has four registered student members, one official faculty advisor, and two faculty consultants. Anthony Laurent, a BFA student in the Web Design & Development program, will lead the group as its president, aided by his vice president, Jatara Wright, a BFA student in the Internet Marketing program.
Mark Beagley, IADT-Detroit’s Program Chair over Graphic Design and Web Design & Development, will assist the group as its official FBLA-PBL faculty advisor, with Syed Kazmi, Program Chair of Internet Marketing and Retail Merchandise Management, and Carrie Devone, adjunct instructor in Internet Marketing, providing valuable consulting and mentorship to the group’s members.
Other founding student members of the group include Angela Slayton and Robert Bowen Jr., both BFA students in the Web Design & Development program. We are extremely proud and excited about this emerging group of ambitious and disciplined students here at IADT-Detroit.
