A Fashion Week dispatch from IADT-Tampa fashion student Shannon Donahue-Musfelt.
The Innisbrook Spa and Golf Resort in Palm Harbor was recently transformed into THE fashion scene in the Bay Area with an annual event that celebrates Tampa Bay’s unique style.
This year’s Tampa Bay Fashion Week showcased nine talented fashion and accessories designers, including two IADT-Tampa alumni and one fashion program faculty member. They proved that one does not need to live in New York or Paris to enjoy the latest fashions. Bay Area locals had an opportunity to experience quality style and trendsetters in their own city, while all lovers of creativity enjoyed a week of high-fashion and artistic energy.
The week started with a Red Carpet Reception celebrating vintage designs and continued with daily events including a Bridal Showcase, a Cocktail Reception hosted by Cheryl Tiegs and a Swanky Soiree benefitting Brookwood Florida; it culminated in the Designer Runway Show.
In her fourth year at Tampa Bay Fashion Week, IADT-Tampa alumna Trineice Cagua showed her own unique ladies swimwear line, JCagua. Also in her fourth year, IADT-Tampa alumna Essence Flowers wowed the crowd with her beautifully draped dresses. And showing for her second year, IADT-Tampa faculty member Terri Funaro delighted onlookers with her angelic bridal and evening dresses. (Check out photos of their looks!)
Contributing behind the scenes were several IADT-Tampa students and alumni, including Backstage Manager Fulei Ngangmuta, who has been an organizer of Tampa Bay Fashion Week since its beginning in 2008. A special thanks to all the IADT-Tampa volunteers who, with their time, energy and passion, helped to bring to life another suburb Tampa Bay Fashion Week!
