Eight IADT-Detroit students and two alumni recently created dress designs for 16-inch fashion dolls to be auctioned off as part of fundraising efforts for the American Heart Associaton’s annual Go Red for Women luncheon. To participate, students had to first submit an illustration and biography.
Before the auction, the dolls - donated by Horsman LTD for the second year in a row – toured the Metro Detroit area, with their first destination Birmingham Jewelers in Sterling Heights, MI. The luncheon will be their last stop, and all proceeds from the auction will go to the the American Heart Associaton’s cause.
The participating students and alumni, all part of IADT-Detroit’s Fashion Design program, included Batina Brier, Cari Battle, Nina Jefferson, Valerie Pascal, Viviana Podina, Vincent Ryan, Alyza Talbot, Stephany Middlebrooks, Shawniqua Smith (alumna) and Margaret Leduc (alumna).
