IADT Las Vegas PianoIADT Las Vegas recently welcomed a flashy new addition to its audio progam - a one-of-a-kind custom Baldwin piano nicknamed "The Tie-Dye."

Audio program chair Ron Herbes snagged the piano for the school thanks in part to IADT Las Vegas' newest full-time audio instructor, Vince Casas. Casas, the lead guitarist for the band Theory of Flight, is sponsored by Gibson Guitar, which owns Baldwin. When Herbes met Casas' rep at Gibson, Patrick Genovese, he learned that Baldwin had loaned The Palms Casino Resort a few pianos for their shows and that the time was up. When Herbes asked what IADT needed to do to get one of these pianos, Genovese said, "How fast can you have the movers go get it?"

The piano now resides at the school and will serve various purposes, from serving as a teaching tool to acting as an eye-catching display. Welcome, Tie-Dye!
