Have you ever seen a fashion display that just didn’t look right? It can happen to any designer, so we’ve put together some tips to help you display your fashion design skills in the most appealing ways:
Match the Season
First and foremost, fashion window displays must be in season. Fashion is usually at least half of a season ahead of the actual one, so keep the date in mind when updating your displays. Avoid going too far ahead into the year or falling behind. Both mistakes can drive customers away as they search for next season’s hottest pieces.
Avoid Extreme Combinations
Remember, you want shoppers to look at your displays and think, “I would look great in those pieces.” Therefore, it’s important that you don’t become too extreme in your window displays. A combination that’s too extreme could turn off customers by making them think that your store is too far beyond of their fashion sense.
Don’t be afraid to keep your displays up with the top runway pieces. People expect your window displays to show off the best looks, so add some edge to your displays. You can stay on top of the latest trends while making them marketable to your shoppers.
