Congratulations to IADT-Detroit fashion student Kathleen Gobart! The design Kathleen created (shown at right) for the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women luncheon was selected as Best in Show, and she will create a full-scale version of her dress to be modeled at the luncheon on February 17th at the MGM Grand in Detroit.
Several IADT-Detroit fashion students and faculty created doll-sized designs for the event, and all the dolls - donated by Horsman Ltd. - will be auctioned off during the luncheon to help raise money to support heart disease awareness and to promote heart health in local communities.
Congratulations also to the top five designers, whose creations were chosen by the American Heart Association Executive Leadership Team to go on tour throughout southeast Michigan for the rest of the year! The winners are:
- Kathleen Gobart
- Sarah Luther
- Nicole Doucette
- Katrina Jackson
- Mariella Amador
