IADT Detroit celebrated Thanksgiving as the kickoff to our charity month. This year, like last year, we had a staff donate gift baskets for a raffle to raise funds for RMHC. The gift baskets in themselves were valued over $1,000. The baskets were raffled off to staff at an end-of-year business review meeting. The Executive Director of the Ronald McDonald House of Southeast Michigan, Jennifer Litomisky was invited and presented with the proceeds. She also won a picture from instructor Ledio Veseli of the Detroit Skyline for the House.
This raffle effort raised $1,246 in donations for the House. In addition, throughout the month, the entire campus filled a refrigerator-sized box with supplies and canned foods for the house, led by the admissions staff. Student group AIGA also cooked breakfast at the House on December 13th – even with poor driving conditions due to a huge snow storm! That's the Spirit of IADT - Detroit!
