IADT-Sacramento Students Take Honors at Fashion Show

Three student's from IADT-Sacramento's fashion design and merchandising program received honors and one had her gown showcased on television in conjunction with the recent Cavendish Fashion Show, part of the city’s 2nd Annual Banana Festival Aug. 13 and 14.
The following IADT designers received honors:
•Dan Dan Zhang for Best Couture Design.
•Crystal Rocha for Best Original Design.
•Dedra Turner for Best in Show
The show was organized by IADT-Sacramento fashion instructor Esther Amato and festival creator Chef Richard Pannell. “This event gave the IADT students an opportunity to share their creative talents to the community,” Amato says.
Chef Pannell and Marissa Adams, the 2011 Banana Queen, selected IADT-Sacramento fashion design student Mey Saechao’s gown to model. Wearing Saechao’s gown, Adams was featured on the television show Good Day Sacramento.
In addition to Saechao, Zhang and Turner, Banana Festival fashion show designers included IADT-Sacramento students Felicia Cowley, Alfredo Quintero, Clifton Simmons, Crystal Rocha, Sharon Sutherland, Raelina Boyd, Monica Buo and Eshonna Watson.
