IADT Interior Design Student Honored at Northwest Design Awards

Congratulations to IADT-Seattle Interior Design student Joyce Xia on winning second place in the student category of the the 13th Annual Northwest Design Awards.
Designers, architects and students competed with projects in 14 competition categories, and a panel of industry experts evaluated submissions through an anonymous process, measuring each project on the basis of proportion, composition, use of space, materials and appropriateness of the design solution.
Xia’s project was to create an interior for a townhouse purchased as a vacation home and potential future permanent residence for a client in Mexico. Her goal was to provide a cool, yet not dark, interior for the warm weather as well as to create a space that would be comfortable and easy to maintain.
