IADT’s degree programs are built around the fact that technology plays an essential role in today’s graphic design, information technology, retail merchandise management, Internet marketing and Web design and development fields. That’s why we’ve taken steps to equip our students in these programs with the tools they need to learn and succeed.


To provide students a helpful, high-tech tool for the coursework required in our Retail Merchandise Management program, an Apple® iPad® tablet computer with the following specifications is included in the cost of tuition*:  

  • Black 16GB third-generation iPad
  • 2-year AppleCare Protection Plan

For students in our Graphic Design, Internet Marketing and Web Design and Development programs, a 13-inch Apple MacBook® Pro laptop computer with the following specifications is included in the cost of tuition*:

  • 2.4GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor
  • 500GB Serial ATA Drive
  • 8GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM
  • Accessory kit
  • Mac OS
  • 8x slot-loading SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)

  • InCase Nylon Sling Sleeve case for 13-in. MacBook Pro - Black

For students in our Information Technology programs, a PC laptop computer with the following specifications is included in the cost of tuition*:

  • Memory: 4GB, DDR3, 1333MHz

  • Intel HD Graphics 3000 Video Card
  • 256GB Solid State Hard Drive

Students are given full ownership of equipment once attendance is posted in week two of their second term. Students who already own an iPad tablet or laptop computer with the specifications required for their program of study can opt out and receive a tuition credit by completing and submitting the a waiver form. To get a copy of this form, please contact the admissions office.

The offering of the laptop or iPad included in tuition for the programs noted above is not applicable for students at IADT-Online, IADT-Nashville, IADT-Chicago or IADT-Sacramento. At IADT-Seattle, the offer applies to the Web Design and Development and Information Technology programs only. The supplied laptop or iPad may not meet technology requirements for courses or programs outside the designated programs.
