IADT–Seattle Celebrates Graduation

Seattle graduationSeattle, Washington (June 10, 2011) – The International Academy of Design and Technology (IADT) in Seattle held its annual commencement ceremony at Highline Performing Arts Center on May 27. Students from the Digital Media Production, Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, Graphic Design, Interior Design and Visual Communications programs - plus the first graduates from the Game Production program - walked to receive their diplomas for Bachelor of Fine Arts or Associate of Applied Science degrees.

The commencement address was delivered by State Representative Zack Hudgins. His motivational speech centered on three simple phrases: “Be good. Be smart. Be brave.” His remarks also included several entertaining stories and words of encouragement.

The faculty and staff also selected and honored the 2011 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient, Jamie Simons, a Bachelor of Fine Arts alumna and Seattle Alumni Chapter President. The Outstanding Students from each program also were recognized:

Upon receiving their awards, each student said a few words of thanks to the faculty and their families for supporting them through each step on their way to this goal. The ceremony was followed with a reception at which faculty and staff, friends and family members all congratulated the graduates on their accomplishments.
