IADT-Sacramento Students Present Creative Displays of Fashion, Interior Design & Visual Communication During their "Winter Showcase" on February 4, 2010

January 26, 2010

Sacramento, CA. (January 26, 2010) – The International Academy of Design & Technology-Sacramento (the Academy) will host a student produced "Winter Showcase" on Feb. 4, 2010. Talented students from the Academy’s various design programs have completed complex creative projects designed to inspire attendees. Projects will be displayed in a gallery-like setting and visitors will have the opportunity to interact with the students who will provide project presentations and insight into their design philosophies during the event. Also a great networking opportunity for employers and other creative professionals within the community, the showcase is designed to reveal the creative mission of the college and its impact on students while unveiling the depth of thought behind each piece.

"As instructors, it brings us great pleasure than to see our students applying the technical knowledge they’ve gained here at the Academy. This showcase will give them an opportunity to shine as artists in their own right and will contribute to their portfolios in the world of professional design," states Purwa Garg, fashion design instructor at IADT, Sacramento.

The evening also presents the work of Traver Rains of the popular, global fashion brand Heatherette. A highly skilled photographer in his own right, Mr. Rains will also show an exciting photo exhibition for media and guests. His fashion fans include Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Steven Tyler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Britney Spears. The community is invited to attend this special, charity event to personally meet the designers and see their exceptional work:

This event is free and open to the community and refreshments will be served:
