International Academy of Design & Technology hosts informative fashion event
Sacramento, Calif. (February 2, 2009) — Six fashion professionals, who represent different facets of the fashion industry, will share their personal experience and insights with the public. Chandra Bourne, owner of Cast Images Talent Agency; Leigh Grogan, Fashion Editor at the Sacramento Bee; Johnathan Kayne, Season 3 Contestant on the “Project Runway” television show; Elyssa Lee, Editor-In-Chief of Sactown magazine; Nolan Robert, Make-Up Artist/Winner of “Blush: The Search for the Next Great Makeup Artist” television show and Felicia Strati, Owner & Buyer for the Felicia Strati Boutique, will address an audience at the International Academy of Design & Technology - Sacramento (the Academy) on February 12 starting at 6 pm at 2450 Del Paso Road, Sacramento. Admission is free.
“This is an opportunity for our students to hear the real-life experiences of successful professionals in fashion and a rare chance to ask them questions,” said Academy president, Patricia Hoffman. “Reality television is increasing the appeal of the fashion industry but that still does not provide a true, behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to make a career in fashion. It is highly competitive and sought after, so speaking directly to this group should benefit everyone.”
Since the Grand Opening in 2007, the Academy has brought special events to the city of Sacramento. Its next fashion show will be held in March. Photos of all forum participants are available.
