ASID Recognizes IADT Faculty Member

Barbara Marini FASID, Program Chair of Interior Design at the International Academy of Design & Technology, was honored with Fellowship from the American Society of Interior Designers.

Troy, Mich. - The Program Chair of Interior Design, Barbara Marini, at the International Academy of Design & Technology (IADT) recently received award from the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), Fellowship. Fellowship represents the highest honor the Society bestows on an exceptional volunteer or design visionary for his or her contributions to the advancement of ASID or to the interior design profession.

ASID granted Marini Fellowship because of her“commitment to excellence and her innovative approaches to teaching, resulting“in national enhancements to interior design education through adoption of Council for Interior Design Accreditation (formerly FIDER) higher accreditation standards, particularly in the areas of codes, sustainability and right to practice.

ASID had also awarded Marini with the Faculty of the Year Award in 2006, Member of the Year and Chapter Medalist award from the ASID Michigan Chapter in 2005, and the ASID/Joel Polsky Academic Achievement Award in 2000.

Marini is well known for her active involvement with ASID. She has had various roles in ASID since becoming a professional member in 1980 after successfully passing the NCIDQ Exam. She currently serves as a member-at-large of the ASID Board of Directors.
