The International Academy of Design & Technology in Nashville is authorized by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission. This authorization must be renewed each year and is based on an evaluation by minimum standards concerning quality of education, ethical business practices, health and safety, and fiscal responsibility.
The interior design program leading to the Bachelor of Applied Science in Interior Design has been granted candidacy status by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA). Candidacy status signifies that the Commission has determined that the program is progressing towards CIDA accreditation and has the potential to achieve compliance with CIDA Standards within five years. Candidacy status does not indicate that the program is accredited, nor does it guarantee eventual accreditation of the program by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation.

The International Academy of Design & Technology in Seattle is a branch campus of the International Academy of Design & Technology in Tampa, Florida.
The International Academy of Design and Technology is authorized by the Washington Higher Education Coordinating Board (HECB) and meets the requirements and minimum educational standards established for degree-granting institutions under the Degree-Granting Institutions Act. This authorization is subject to periodic review and authorizes the International Academy of Design and Technology to offer the following programs:
Associate of Applied Science in Fashion Design; Associate of Applied Science in Fashion Merchandising; Associate of Applied Science in Interior Design; Associate of Applied Science in Visual Communications (in teach out); Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design; Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Merchandising; Bachelor of Fine Arts in Game Production; Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design; and Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design. Authorization by the HECB does not carry with it an endorsement by the board of the institution or its programs.
